1. Dripping Springs. The “Gateway to Hill Country” offers distilleries like Desert Door (sotol) and the photogenic Hamilton Pool Preserve (reservations required).
2. Johnson City. LBJ National Historical Park: Tour President Lyndon B. Johnson’s boyhood home and ranch. Pecan Street Brewing: Refuel with craft beer and farm-to-table bites.
